Trainspotters are undergoing an image makeover through a PR drive by The
Wright Partnership for the National Railway Museum. The agency has
signed up celebrity trainspotters like Hasbro dolls Sindy and Paul
(above) to dispel the image of railway fans as anorak-clad loners.
Designer Suzanna Leighton has also designed ‘functional but funky’
outfits for the UK’s two million ‘spotters’. ‘We want to highlight other
aspects of the hobby such as the speed, power and romance of the
railways,’ said museum head Andrew Scott.
