BORDER LINES: DUBLIN: Democrats pick press officer

Freelance journalist Jack Murray joined the Progressive Democrats, the minority party in Ireland’s coalition government, this month as the party’s press officer. Murray reports to the party’s general secretary, John Higgins, and will liaise closely with assistant government press secretary John Murray, (no relation). Jack Murray holds the only PR post at the party’s headquarters and is responsible for local councillors and senators. He replaces Kirstin Quinn, who left last year to join the Electricity Supply Board as a public affairs consultant.
