BORDER LINES: BRUSSELS - Motor bodies poach RAC man

Two international motoring organisations have poached Richard Woods (left) from the RAC to be their campaigns and media director in Brussels. The Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT), which represents touring clubs, and the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the main governing body of international motorsport, have just set up a joint campaigns unit.

Two international motoring organisations have poached Richard Woods

(left) from the RAC to be their campaigns and media director in

Brussels. The Alliance Internationale de Tourisme (AIT), which

represents touring clubs, and the Federation Internationale de

l’Automobile (FIA), the main governing body of international motorsport,

have just set up a joint campaigns unit.



It will lobby on transport policy, safety and the environment and help

individual member clubs to tailor initiatives to local markets. Woods

will lead a team of four, including new campaigns manager Sean

Billingsley, who was previously campaigns and parliamentary affairs

manager at the RAC.
