Freeview appoints House PR for launch of Freeview HD

Freeview has appointed House PR to handle the publicity for the launch of Freeview HD.

House PR is tasked with driving brand awareness of the Freeview HD service across consumer media.

There will be a particular focus on educating consumers about the benefits of Freeview HD and creating noise ahead of the World Cup.

The remit also includes trade media communications.

Freeview is now the provider of TV on the main set in 10 million homes. In total, more than two-thirds of the UK (18.2 million homes) has Freeview. Freeview+ has reached a base of 1.9 million users in two and a half years.

The House PR account team will be led by entertainment director Rich Turner, with support from account director Lee Robson.

Nelson Bostock Communications will continue to implement a regional PR campaign to raise awareness of Freeview+ in digital switchover regions.
