Wilkinson stepped down from his role as director of public affairs and communications last week after 14 years at the company. He will not be replaced.

During his time at Coca-Cola, Wilkinson worked in several of the company's key markets, including Africa, Middle East and Asia, before taking up a UK role six years ago (30 January 2004).

Wilkinson could not be contacted at the time of going to press, but he is understood to be considering options including returning to work in Asia or the Middle East.
