Glasgow-based consultancy Media House is to launch a London
office.
It will be headed by Chris Rushton, who resigned from his post as editor
of Newcastle’s Sunday Sun last week following a lengthy investigation
into his ’aggressive’ management style.
Staff complaints to assistant editor Mike McGiffen at the newspaper,
where Rushton spent seven years, resulted in the inquiry by the
personnel department. Industry sources said Rushton resigned from the
newspaper last week because he was not prepared to compromise his
approach and the clash of cultures was insurmountable.
Rushton previously worked with Jack Irvine, chief executive of Media
House, at the Glasgow Daily Record, and will join the agency on 15
December.
’Chris’s aggressive, hands on, direct style suits the ethos of Media
House,’ said Irvine.
Irvine said he expected the London office to be fully operational by
February.
Media House’s clients in the London area include caravan holiday company
Bourne Leisure and nursing home operator Tamaris.
