Channel 4's Richard&Judy book club spin-off hires Taylor Herring

Channel 4 has asked Taylor Herring to promote its new show the TV Book Club.

The show is a spin-off of the book club that was successful on The Richard & Judy Show.

Taylor Herring will manage all communication between Channel 4, production company Cactus TV and series-funder Specsavers, which will be supporting both the TV Book Club and its spin-off Summer Read series.

The agency will handle media for the five presenters Jo Brand, Gok Wan, Laila Rouass, Dave Spikey and Nathaniel Parker.

It will also raise the profile of Book Club founder Amanda Ross, who produced the show in its original guise on Richard & Judy’s daytime show. The Observer once hailed her as the ‘most powerful person in publishing’ after the show encouraged viewers to buy the featured books in their droves. According to The Bookseller, the club accounted for nearly four per cent of high street book sales.
Taylor Herring previously promoted Richard & Judy and The Galaxy British Book Awards, both of which were produced by Cactus TV for Channel 4.

Taylor Herring will orchestrate a publicity campaign for the ten-week series, which began this month. The agency is also contracted to look after the ensuing Summer Read series.
