Grayling has hired Robert Fenner as board director, responsible for
technology, following the departure of Claire Moran to become managing
director of hi-tech specialist Spec Communications.
Fenner was previously at Gamester Kenyon, where he ran most of the
agency’s large hi-tech accounts including Capita, Rand Information
Systems and Performix.
‘We were very sorry to lose Claire but she was offered an excellent
opportunity and we felt we couldn’t stand in her way,’ said Grayling
managing director Nigel Kennedy He added that he was looking to Fenner
to ‘spearhead’ Grayling’s growth in IT PR and that now the agency’s
parent company Lopex had returned to profitability it was planning to
make an acquisition in the hi-tech PR sector.
Moran joins Spec with a brief to build up its business-to-business
presence in the hi-tech and healthcare sectors.
‘Having the chance to shape the future of an exciting agency was too
good an opportunity to refuse,’ said Moran. ‘A job like this is too good
to turn down.’
Spec’s clients include The Decisions Group, BT Aeronautical, the BT IT
Journalist of the Year Awards, Syntegra and Pinacl.
