Healthcare: The Week in Healthcare - Orion turns to Medea

Medea Communications has been hired by Orion Pharmaceuticals to work on dexmedetomidine, its pipeline product for sedation in intensive care.

Medea will help prepare the market for a 2011 launch. The medical education agency was launched last year by former Fleishman-Hillard staffers Kate Hawker and Charlotte Florence.

Severn Delta has called in Woolley Pau PR to promote its skincare range PitRok after a competitive pitch. The agency will handle PR for the organic, skin-friendly deodorant, hair and skincare products.

The Healthcare Communications Association has launched its latest benchmarking survey, which looks at how healthcare comms has changed over the past five years. The summary report compares findings from the 2004-2009 surveys.

Chandler Chicco has been named by The Holmes Report as 'Healthcare agency of the decade'. The agency ended 1999 with fee income of less than $12m and was more than four times that size in 2007, when it was sold to healthcare communications holding company Inventiv for more than $60m.
