Rob Cope has joined the consortium of more than 140 charities to lead an integrated comms, marketing and membership campaign that aims to increase the number of people leaving gifts to charity in their will.
He will report to Remember A Charity’s executive group and the Institute of Fundraising’s CEO.
Cope previously spent seven years as deputy director of marketing and communications at The Prince’s Trust, where he oversaw the charity's high-profile national campaigns including the first national youth week and the charity’s 30th birthday appeal on ITV. His team were finalists in the NGO Department of the Year category at last year's PRWeek Awards and winner of Third Sector's Best Communications Team 2007. Cope has also worked for various PR agencies.
The Institute of Fundraising's CEO Lindsay Boswell said: 'This is a crucial time for charities’ fundraising and legacies remain critically important as a source of income.
