GCI London is eyeing the hi-tech PR market following its

appointment of a senior specialist to run a dedicated information

technology unit.

The company has poached 31-year-old Caroline Randle from hi-tech

marketing outfit Fox Parrack Fox to head its new division.

Randle, who joined this week, managed the PR arm of the advertising and

design company and has worked for such top names as Fujitsu, Kodak and

Nynex.

At GCI she will lend her hi-tech knowledge to the company’s three

existing clients: US cable firm TCI, Swedish training supplier

SoftVision and games software manufacturer Psygnosis. GCI is also

pitching for three hi-tech accounts to be managed by Randle.

GCI chief executive Adrian Wheeler will assist Randle along with an

account executive while she looks for a full time account manager.

Wheeler wants hi-tech to match the size of GCI’s healthcare

division.

Healthcare, launched last year, now has a fee income of almost pounds

500,000.
