Public Affairs: The Week in Lobbying

Fishburn Hedges is on the hunt for a head of public affairs to replace Lucy Burns, who will quit the agency at the end of March. After nine years at the agency, Burns is taking time out to review her career options. Fishburn Hedges CEO Simon Matthews said Burns had made a 'fantastic contribution', adding that 2009 had been 'one of the best years in the practice's history'.

Politics International director Bill Clare is leaving to become an adviser to shadow health secretary Andrew Lansley. Clare joined Politics International in 2006, having previously served as chief of staff to senior Tory MP Liam Fox.

Rolls-Royce has appointed Helen Kennett as director of UK government relations. Kennett is currently head of government relations at global aerospace and defence firm Thales UK.

The British Bankers' Association has brought in Ben Andersen-Tuffnell as director of government affairs. Andersen-Tuffnell joins from UK tech trade body Intellect. He replaces John Letizia, now at Lloyds Banking Group.

Westminster Advisers will provide public affairs support to Partnership Assurance, the social care insurance provider. The agency is understood to have triumphed in a three-way pitch.
