Insurer Norwich Union has appointed Rebecca Iveson to the newly
created role of investor relations manager.
Iveson, who took up the post this week, joins from the Chiroscience
Group, where she was head of corporate and investor relations for a year
and a half. Her previous roles include associate director of Shandwick
Consultants, director of investor relations services at Medialink and
vice president of US-based IR consultancy DF King and Co. Iveson has
worked as a corporate and investor relations specialist for FTSE 250
companies and other international clients for the past ten years.
’The new position is a consequence of Norwich’s flotation in 1997.
During that time there was a feeling that this was a role we needed to
have,’ a spokesman said.
Iveson will work with Brunswick PR, which handles Norwich’s PR. She will
report to Norwich Union’s group financial controller Philip Easter.
’This is a new position created because the company’s investor relations
was done in a relatively ad hoc way up until now. My appointment will
formalise the IR strategy. I will be building on the progress which has
been made so far and turning investor relations into a more cohesive
function,’ said Iveson.
Norwich Union also retains QBO for its healthcare and general insurance
and Penrose for its investment PR.
