Carlsberg-Tetley, still reeling from a media battering over its new

alcopop Thickhead, has lost its PR chief to rival brewer Scottish and

Newcastle.

Corporate PR manager Linda Bain will join S&N’s Edinburgh office on 30

September as corporate affairs manager.

Her departure from Carlsberg-Tetley on 6 September came just three days

after the launch of Thickhead but it is understood Bain had already

secured the job at S&N some time before.

She will be joined at S&N by IBM parliamentary and government manager

Chris Lowe who is to become Scottish and Newcastle’s new corporate

affairs manager.

Both staff will report to director of corporate affairs Richard Gibb at

the company, which owns Center Parcs, Pontins, Scottish Courage and

Scottish and Newcastle Retail.

Bain has been replaced at Carlsberg by its regional PR manager for South

Midlands and Wales, John Haywood.
