Increased competition in the telecoms sector has recently led other

companies to hire agencies. Last week Siemens’ mobile phones and

business phone network appointed Shandwick to a worldwide account last

week.

Motorola now has a three-tier agency structure. In addition to H&K it

uses local corporate agencies in most countries and also lead agencies

across the region. H&K staff from across the region will work on the

account from its London office, but Motorola stresses that it has not

hired H&K as a network and is still in the process of reviewing its

agencies at local corporate level.

The budget and evaluation levels have not been decided but Inge Wallage,

Motorola’s EMEA corporate PR manager, said: ’We will spend a significant

part of the budget on evaluation and will appoint a media evaluation

consultant to analyse the work.’
