London-based lobbying agency Public Policy Unit is to advise the
Slovakian government on its application for EU membership. The
consultancy has been awarded a contract by the Foreign Office’s Know How
Fund to finance the work.
The business, thought to carry a six-figure fee, will include a seminar
and a series of studies recommending the changes Slovakia must make in
order to harmonise its legislative system with the EU.
’The main aim is to explain how to use systematic techniques in
implementing European regulations and assessing the impact of those
regulations on the country,’ said Ken Binning, who is leading the
project for the Public Policy Unit.
The Know How Fund is the UK’s programme of bilateral technical
assistance to central and Eastern European countries. It aims to support
the transition to democracy and market economy by providing British
skills and encouraging British investment.
