German agency Ferck Euro PR has picked up a major piece of business

from US software company Symantec, prompting it to open its third office

in Germany.

A Dusseldorf office, headed by account director Friederike Rieg, will

open in October to service the account.

Ferck already has offices in Stuttgart and Frankfurt, and two offices in

Holland.

The agency began working for Symantec this month. The consumer account

covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It was previously handled by

Nuremberg agency PR Kaltwasser.

Symantec is one of the top ten software companies world wide. It

produces internet, anti-virus and utilities software. Its utilities

software facilitates the use of personal computers and includes tools to

stop computers crashing, plus fax and laptop link-up programmes. The

software is designed for both PCs and Macintosh.

Ferck’s Dusseldorf office will be overseen by Stuttgart managing

director Sabine Hueckmann and Frankfurt MD Alfried Grosse. ’I will work

solely for Symantec at the beginning and then we hope to gain new

accounts shortly after that and employ more staff,’ said Rieg. The

office could employ up to three people by the end of the year.

The agency is affiliated to Grayling in both Holland and Germany.
