British Red Cross' corporate affairs head Leigh Daynes departs for Plan UK

British Red Cross's head of corporate external affairs is leaving to head up comms at Plan UK.

Departure: Leigh Daynes

Leigh Daynes has been at the charity for just over six years. He will now join Plan UK to head up its comms, advocacy and campaigns following a restructure.

‘The alignment of communications with advocacy and campaigns signals an ambitious intent to put Plan at the heart of public debate about international children's development work and issues. Girls' voices all too often go unheard in this debate,’ he said.

He added: ‘We will continue to grow Plan campaigns to further their rights and secure a future for the millions who lack basic primary school education.’

British Red Cross’ director of comms Phil Talbot said he would be putting in interim arrangements until he recruited a replacement for Daynes.
