Freud Communications has won back the PR contract for Segaworld, the

futuristic indoor theme park, just six months after losing it.

The agency will start work immediately on the pounds 80,000 fee business

in preparation for Segaworld’s launch next month.

Freud Communications had been handling the venture on a project basis

until Sega Amusement’s new marketing director James Bidwell ordered a

review earlier this year.

The agency re-pitched for the business but was beaten by Consolidated

Communications which was hired on a full-time contract to manage the

launch and help Segaworld reach its goal of 1.7 million visitors in its

first year.

However, ‘irreconcilable strategic differences’ caused the two to split

three weeks ago (PR Week, 5 July) and Freud Communications was then re-

hired. Both parties declined to comment further on the appointment.
