John Stephenson, former-chief executive of defunct healthcare PR firm

MC2, has resurfaced at start-up Keene Medical Communications.

Stephenson has joined the two week-old healthcare arm of Keene

Communications as deputy medical director reporting to group healthcare

director Sarah Lines.

At Keene he will be responsible for areas including public affairs,

crisis management, media relations and medical education. The division’s

clients brought over from the mainstream agency include Fisons and Boots

Healthcare International.

MC2 was declared insolvent and went into receivership last autumn. (PR

Week, 27 October 1995).

The agency, with its five staff and seven accounts, was bought by Lowe

Bell Communications and became Green Moon Healthcare - a subsidiary of

its consumer agency Green Moon.

Keene has also recruited consultant surgeon Sir Arnold Elton as

principal medical adviser to the agency.

He will oversee the division’s development and take responsibility for

medical politics and government relations, international issues,

surgical sciences, health planning and NHS issues.
