Cadbury-Schweppes has split the role of corporate communications

director, following the departure of Chris Milburn (PR Week, 8 March).

Investor relations for Cadbury-Schweppes will now be handled by Mike

Mason, a former finance director at one of the company’s three

subsidiaries, Trebor Bassett.

Responsibility for public relations, internal communications and

corporate affairs has passed on to the company’s group PR manager Dora

McCabe, although McCabe stressed she and Mason will work closely to plug

the gap left by Milburn.

Both will report to the company’s group finance director David Kappler.

McCabe said there was ‘no requirement’ to recruit a corporate

communications director to directly replace Milburn, who left last

monthafter 26 years with the company.

Milburn, now director of corporate affairs for industrial group BTR,

worked as investor relations director at Cadbury-Schweppes before taking

on a wider communications remit in 1990.
