The area, in west London’s Kew Green, was taken over by the crew filming
The End of The Affair, a movie based on the Graham Greene novel of the
same name, starring Ralph Fiennes, Julianne Moore and Stephen Rea.
The unsuspecting staff at Profile were subjected to explosions, the
wailing of fire engine sirens, frenzied soldiers and firemen running
around and a giant rain machine bringing inclement weather to Kew Green
in order to recreate the Blitz.
Further chaos was caused when Ferry Lane, which runs beside the agency’s
premises, was unexpectedly renamed Cambridge Road for the film.
Couriers and taxis had trouble finding the building and the agency
received some confused calls.
One upside for the female staff was Oscar-winner Fiennes, who provided
many an ogling opportunity.
