Expansion plans for College Hill

College Hill is considering approaches from communication services groups in a bid to expand its offering beyond its traditional UK financial PR base. The move could result in a group taking equity in College Hill, or in College Hill taking equity in another PR agency.

College Hill is considering approaches from communication services

groups in a bid to expand its offering beyond its traditional UK

financial PR base. The move could result in a group taking equity in

College Hill, or in College Hill taking equity in another PR agency.

Alex Sandberg, the agency’s senior partner, said: ’We are interested in

forming a strategic alliance to extend our geographic and product reach.

We have had a number of approaches and we are sifting through them to

see if two and two will make more than four.’

Sandberg denied rumours that he was in talks with Cordiant

Communications Group. Cordiant is one of College Hill’s clients.

Announcing its financial results last week, Cordiant made clear its

intention to acquire businesses outside advertising.

College Hill is currently worth about pounds 8 million in billings. The

agency was founded in 1990 by five partners including Sandberg. It now

counts 90 staff and operations in London, Johannesburg and New York.
