Kellogg’s PR agency of over 26 years Hill and Knowlton has won another
slice of business with the launch of the company’s football themed
cereal Strike.
The agency was on an original list of four public relations firms and
pitched against shortlisted company Freud Communications last week.
Strike is a multi-grain cereal formulated in partnership with The
Premier League and the soccer magazine Shoot!.
The account, believed to be worth under pounds 50,000 in fees, will run
alongside an advertising campaign, set to run over the next few weeks.
Kellogg’s is reported to have allocated pounds 6 million to the launch
of Strike over the next 12 months.
H&K director and head of the Kellogg’s business Wendy Mair said the
agency could not comment on its relationship with Kellogg’s.
H&K’s work for the cereal giant includes consumer PR for Kellogg’s Corn
Flakes and a campaign for National Breakfast Week, for which Kellogg’s
was a lead sponsor.
The agency also handles PR for Walkers Crisps, owned by Walkers Snack
Foods which uses football and television personality Gary Lineker in its
TV advertising campaign.
