Ferry operator Norfolkline chooses Westgate Communications for 2010 blitz

Ferry operator Norfolkline has turned to Westgate Communications to handle its 2010 PR activity.

Ferry operator: Norfolkline

Westgate will manage Norfolkline’s English Channel consumer and b2b PR, focusing on increasing the number of car passengers and repeat business. It will manage a press office function, as well as running proactive campaigns.

The agency pitched for the account at the beginning of the year, when the Red Consultancy was appointed. But only nine months later, the ferry operator has handed the account to Westgate without a repitch.

Norkfolkline’s general manager passenger services English Channel Chris Newey said: ‘We are confident that Westgate is the right sort of proactive PR agency to help us communicate the Norfolkline successes on the Channel. Its previous successes with high profile consumer brands particularly appealed to us, as did its recent work for Visit Kent.’

The account will be headed up by agency founder Helen Westgate. The agency has recently won Visit Kent and Kettle Chips.
