- What is it good for?

A sleek, contemporary bar and restaurant overlooking Trafalgar Square, with a buzzy atmosphere. The bar menu, served until 11.30pm, is ideal for informal snacks and drinks with journalists, while the dinner market menu changes regularly and features the freshest seasonal produce.

- Signature dish

The Mediterranean-inspired small sharing plates are particularly delicious, with dishes such as marinated artichokes and feta with balsamic syrup. The chef's melt-in-the-mouth pork belly also comes highly recommended.

- Who's the boss?

Stirling Webb, executive chef, has headed the restaurant for 18 months, and draws Italian influences from his training at San Lorenzo.

- Tips please?

As well as being a perfect people-spotting venue, Rockwell features revolving art exhibitions to help the conversation flow.

- What's the damage?

Sharing plates are £6 each or four for £20.

A three-course dinner is £25.
