BRUSSELS: The European Commission’s department for employment,

industrial relations and social policy, DGV, is reviewing a PR account

currently held by The Rowland Company.

The account is to handle PR and information services for the European

Social Fund, which funds job creation and training schemes. Between 1994

and 1999, the Fund will award pounds 31 billion to projects in EU member

states.

DGV has split the account into three ’lots’, all of which are being

awarded on a one-year contract. Lot one involves the production and

diffusion of publications. Lot two involves the production and diffusion

of audiovisual materials, event organisation and evaluation and media

strategy development and implementation. Lot three requires the

collection and management of information about the Social Fund and the

European Strategy for Employment.
