CENTRAL EUROPE: Credit card company Visa International is reviewing
its Central European PR account, currently held by
Andrew Morrison, acting head of external communications for Central
Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEMEA) at Visa, said: ’We are obliged to
look at all service contracts every three years. But we have not decided
whether to hold a pitch yet.’
Morrison confirmed that Visa was asking other agencies for credentials
as part of the review. The account covers all Visa’s markets in Central
Europe including Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
Visa International is currently reviewing its pan-European advertising
account which is handled by Saatchi and Saatchi.
Burson-Marsteller represents Visa in Asia but this relationship is not
being reviewed because the contract has been in place for less than

Burson-Marsteller supports Visa International’s CEMEA in-house team of
four which is headed by CEMEA vice-president of corporate communications
Caris Watson. The team was recently expanded with the appointment of
Amanda Sainsbury Vial as member communications analyst. She joined from
Deloitte and Touche.
Visa’s European Union region PR is handled separately by a 14-strong
department headed by EU vice-president of corporate communications Sue
Curtis. Curtis’s department retains 10 agencies across the region but
said that none were being actively reviewed.
