Walters leaves the Daily Mail for Square Mile

financial PR agency Square Mile Communications as a director.



Walters has worked on the Daily Mail’s financial pages for 21 years, and

was made deputy City editor 13 years ago. Before joining the Daily Mail

he was City editor of Thomson Regional Newspapers for ten years.



He joins the company in October and will advise Square Mile’s clients on

press and investor relations strategy. He will be one of nine directors,

reporting to chairman Tim Jackaman.



Walters said: ’I am delighted to be joining Square Mile. It is one of

the more attractive financial public relations companies because it has

a low profile so there are no big egos there.’



Square Mile’s clients include high street retailer Next, electrical

retailers Dixons, drug design software company Oxford Molecular Group

and building materials company Meyer.
