DIARY: And now for something completely different for the PR men in waiting

As we return from our Easter breaks it seems like a good chance to catch up with those who have even more time on their hands - the PR people currently on gardening leave.

As we return from our Easter breaks it seems like a good chance to

catch up with those who have even more time on their hands - the PR

people currently on gardening leave.

Alan Ogden, former communications director of merged bank UBS, at time

of going to press was facing up to finding a new job on a jaunt around

Eastern Europe, something an ex-colleague says he’d planned to do for

some time. The jaunt, that is.

While ex-Edelman head Abel Hadden plans to spend the summer taking in as

much tennis and football as possible, he’s also planned a trip

abroad.

However, his sounds a little more arduous than Ogden’s - Hadden will

spend two weeks in July with Raleigh International building walls and

new homes in the sweltering heat of Belize.

Andrew Nicolls former director of Ludgate Communications who left in

January (PR Week, 23 Jan), is still doing the odd stint at Ludgate as

well as a few mundane things outside PR. ’I’ve got a few friends who are

setting companies up and am helping them,’ he tells me.

The experience should be useful when Nicolls, Gay Collins, Shona

Prendergast, and Louise Hatch launch their own agency in coming months.
