Oxfam Fair Trade Company, a division of Oxfam, has called in Jane

Howard PR to support a drive to attract new customers for its shops and

catalogue.

Oxfam is moving away from simply selling second hand goods and is now

pushing its range of ’fair trade’ products. These are designed and

commissioned by Oxfam and produced according to ethical and

environmental standards.

Oxfam has been selling fair trade products for over 30 years, but these

have traditionally been coffee and craft items. A range of home and food

products has been developed and Oxfam has restructured its 300 shops,

with five stores now dedicated to selling fair trade products. It has

created the separate brand, Oxfam Fair Trade Company.

Oxfam Fair Trade Company has also introduced four season collections, as

it moves towards its aim of becoming a high street retail name.

Countrywide Porter Novelli, Aurelia PR, Elizabeth Hindmarch Public

Relations and Munro and Forster Communications all pitched against Jane

Howard PR for the account.
