The UK arm of Cendant Corporation, the world’s biggest consumer and
business-to-business services firm, has hired Republic Communications
to polish up its corporate image and promote its subsidiary, PHH Vehicle
It is thought 12-month-old PR agency Republic will net around pounds
150,000 in fees from its work for the US-based group’s subsidiary.
Republic won the contract for PHH’s Insurer Services division last
September but has now taken on briefs for Retailers Services, which
makes corporate purchasing cards, and PHH’s two fleet management
companies Vehicle and Truck Management Services which manage around
275,000 company vehicles in the UK.
Agency director Deborah Lewis said that Republic’s task is to talk to
PHH’s existing customers, which include motor insurance firms, retailers
and operators of commercial vehicle fleets as well as to take PHH to a
broader audience in preparation for further Cendant acquisitions in the
Cendant was formed last December by the merger of CUC, which provides
membership services to shoppers and HFS, which owned the Avis brand.
Cedant made its first major buy last month with the acquisition of the
National Parking Corporation.
Republic’s clients include Kodak, Unichem and the Science Museum.
