Herald Communications has been appointed to handle media relations

for the launch of a new ITV children’s programme, Jamboree, which is

positioned as a rival to the BBC’s Teletubbies.

Produced and presented by children’s broadcaster Floella Benjamin, the

10-minute, 13-episode programme will be screened across the ITV network

from 2 June.

Herald has been brought on board by the educational production company

Knowledge Through Entertainment for an initial three-month project,

which has a pounds 10,000 budget, to promote the show to both the

broadcasting press and viewers.

Jamboree, which targets three-to-eight year olds aims to combine fun and

learning. It features the Bopkins - four puppets who help Benjamin

present the programme.
