Newcastle United has appointed a director of communications as it attempts to improve its reputation in light of recent scandal. Alastair Wilson joins the football club from Newcastle Breweries where he was managing director. The club’s chairman Freddy Shepherd and director Douglas Hall recently resigned after tabloid allegations that they insulted fans and players.
