Industrial giant Hanson is close to appointing a financial PR agency to
handle the flotation of its energy business.
The conglomerate, which in January announced plans to demerge into four
different groups - Imperial Tobacco, Millennium Chemicals, Energy and
Hanson- is understood to have approached a number of agencies, including
Shandwick Consultants, Dewe Rogerson, Financial Dynamics, Brunswick,
Lowe Bell Financial and Citigate Communications.
Citigate already works for the Eastern Group, which includes Eastern
Electricity and Eastern Natural Gas, and - along with America’s largest
coal miner Peabody - will form a major part of the Energy group.
Hanson is likely to select the agency for the Energy float by the end of

Brunswick, to act on behalf of Imperial Tobacco prior to its October 1
London Stock Exchange flotation, and Lowe Bell Financial, to provide UK
support for the simultaneous New York flotation of Millennium Chemicals.
