The Rowland Company is searching for a UK chairman - a role last filled
by Alan Capper in 1994.
Marty Franken, president of Rowland Worldwide, said he was open as to
whether the role should be an executive or a non-executive one and that
an appointment was at least two months away.
At the same time he confirmed that joint managing director Beverley Kaye
had now formally been promoted to the role of managing director. He
described the title as a formalisation of the position which Kaye, who
joined the company as joint-MD with David Hughes in July 1995, has had
for some months.
Hughes is currently on paternity leave and was unavailable for comment.
The news came as the company announced a new ‘streamlined’ board to
reflect the emphasis on five core business centres. Apart from Franken,
the board consists of: Mark Weiss, CEO, the Americas; Stephanie
Molyneux, CEO, continental and central Europe; Tony Turner, CEO, North
Asia and Sean Barrett, CEO, South Asia.
A sixth member representing the UK is also expected to be announced
shortly.
