Opinion: From our Readers - Does brand image matter to Carnage?

The media coverage of university events co-ordinator Carnage UK (prweek.com/uk, 6 November) is a good example of a company facing a crisis because an incident touches on an issue of national concern such as responsible drinking.

The story probably hasn't damaged its brand with the kind of student who wants to go on a Carnage pub crawl. But I am sure it has damaged the brand with local authorities, mainstream pubs and student organisations. The question is, does this matter to Carnage?

I would encourage Carnage to see what positive changes it can make, enlist the help of credible partners and start talking proactively to the people who will benefit.
