8 November - A timely story about that distribution channel so often misused by the PR industry - email. In an article published on Journalism.co.uk, Iain Fleming, who works for Newslink, writes about a survey he did on people's attitudes to emails PROs send them. Probably little surprise at his findings, which showed how much news desks disliked the PR industry ... So much of what is being thrown at them is irrelevant - if it gets to them at all. What does get through is sent in ways that either crash their systems or can't be opened ...

6 November - Just over a year ago I talked about the newly public sport of bunny bashing - the new-found fashion for bloggers and blogging journalists to let rip when they felt they have encountered yet another example of poor PR skills in action ... As long as there have been both hacks and flacks, hacks have complained about incompetent PROs. Now it just happens more publicly.

6 November - New average ages of social media users: Twitter 31, Facebook 33, LinkedIn 39, MySpace 26. According to a review of the newest Pew Internet report, average ages of the top social media sites are shifting and converging. Social media, it seems, is becoming common.
