Rhodes left C&W last month after two years at the agency (PRWeek, 7 October). This week, it emerged she will take on the newly created position of creative director at Virgo, where she will work alongside consumer director Sian Boisseau to build a consumer division.
'We have been experiencing growth in the consumer healthcare side of the business,' said Virgo joint CEO Angie Wiles. 'And we believe consumer healthcare will continue to grow next year.'
Rhodes will report to Wiles in the new role.
She will provide creative input across the agency's accounts, including its over-the-counter medicine portfolio, which includes weight-loss drug Ali and pain-relief drug Nurofen.
She will also have a specific brief to build Virgo's health and wellbeing client base, targeting consumer products that show a health benefit.
'I have never worked directly in healthcare, but I think health and wellbeing is a real growth area,' said Rhodes. 'Healthcare is a highly regulated sector and I think my consumer background will help bring fresh ideas.'
Before C&W, Rhodes spent eight years at Hill & Knowlton, where she was a founder of the agency's consumer offshoot PiranhaKid.
Before launching PiranhaKid, she worked in H&K's youth division, HKYN, and also spent six months at Freud Communications as a board director.
Rhodes also worked at C&W earlier in her career, where she met Wiles, a former C&W healthcare MD.
