AT&T-Unisource, the Netherlands-based telecommunications firm, has
hired UK agency Barrington Lloyd International to boost its profile in
the business sector.
With a team of seven working on the account, Barrington Lloyd will
target company directors and technical managers of multinational firms
and highlight the range of AT&T-Unisource’s pan-European
telecommunications services.
These include voice, data and messaging technology and Internet
applications.
Barrington Lloyd senior partner Barry Lloyd said that the agency would
work primarily through the trade, technical and business press. ’Ninety
per cent of our target media are based in the UK,’ he added.
AT&T-Unisource is a joint venture between US giant AT&T and the
Unisource consortium, whose members include Koninklijke PTT Nederland,
Swiss Telecom PTT, Telia of Sweden and Spain’s Telefonica. The company
faces tough competition from other international alliances such as
Concert, which is owned by BT and MCI Communications. Telefonica is also
due to join Concert this year and there is speculation that Italy’s STET
may step in as a replacement at AT&T-Unisource.
