Halewood heads up Tory PR

Francis Halewood has been appointed acting director of communications for the Conservative Party. He replaces Charles Lewington, who leaves Central Office this week after a year-and-a-half in the job. Halewood was previously operations manager for the general election and deputy editor of BBC Radio Four’s Today programme before that. His contract is initially for three months but may be extended.
