Disappointment as Glover gives up TCG position

Alex Glover, deputy managing director of The Communication Group’s financial PR division, has quit the agency after just one year.

Alex Glover, deputy managing director of The Communication Group’s

financial PR division, has quit the agency after just one year.

Glover joined TCG from Grandfield in May 1996 shortly after Christopher

Joll and Maurice Barnfather left the division as managing director and

deputy chairman respectively.

It is unclear where Glover has gone, although sources indicate that he

may join Shandwick Consultants, which recently lost four directors to

the fledgling Hogarth Partnership.

TCG group managing director Peter Hamilton, who heads the financial

division, told PR Week that Glover’s departure was due to personal

reasons and would not affect the business.

’There were no differences as far as the company was concerned. I am

very disappointed it has happened, but it was his decision,’ said

Hamilton.

He added that Glover would not be directly replaced.

- Grandfield associate director Susy Streeter has joined Focus

Communications as director of public relations. She will work

specifically on financial accounts and report to the agency’s investor

relations chief Christopher Joll.
