The second largest hospital trust in the country, Guy’s and St
Thomas’, has promoted Jenny Reid to succeed Matt Tee in its top PR
As public communications head, Reid will oversee a team of two PR
managers and two assistants, and will report directly to the trust’s
chief executive, Tim Matthews.
Reid joined the trust in 1995 and was deputy to Matt Tee. He has been
appointed head of news at the DTI, where he will oversee a team of more
than 20 people. (PR Week, 2 April).
Reid’s role will include internal communications, media relations, and
maintaining relationships with other parts of the NHS and the

She will also be involved in a campaign to open a minor injuries
’The campaign is aimed at reassuring people about the long-term future
of Guy’s, explaining that services will be better than before and what
the minor injuries unit does,’ she said.
Last year, Reid managed the ’Blooming Marvellous’ campaign to open a
controversial building at Guy’s, which was suffering from a great deal
of negative publicity. Following the success of the campaign, Reid was
awarded the Communicating Health Award of Excellence 1998, organised by
NHS Magazine. Reid was also commended in the PR Week 1998 Young Achiever
Prior to joining Guy’s, Reid worked in the corporate PR department at
Scope Communications, now Ketchum.
