company Krakatau Steel.

Around six agencies are believed to have pitched in Java at the end of

last month to handle an international media relations brief for the

share offering later this year.

Dewe Rogerson, Burson-Marsteller, Edelman, Shandwick and Hill and

Knowlton are all thought to be bidding for the account. A final decision

is expected by the end of this month.

Scheduled for October, the privatisation is intended to raise between

dollars 500 million and dollars 600 million (pounds 327-pounds 392

million) to expand production capacity from 2.5 million to 3.5 million

tons a year. The Indonesian government has also earmarked Bank Negara

Indonesia, toll road corporation Jasa Marga and mining firm Aneka

Tambang for privatisation in the near future.
