- What is it good for?
Regardless of the time of day or year, Salt Yard is always busy and has a great buzz. It's a good location for a relaxed lunch with a client or journalist and provides something different from the usual gastro pub grub.
- Signature dish
The food is a mix of the best and most unusual Spanish and Italian tapas. The standout dish is courgette flowers stuffed with monte enebro cheese and drizzled with honey.
- Who's the boss?
Head chef is Benjamin Tish. The restaurant also has a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide for 'good food at moderate prices'.
- Tips please
The recently announced Christmas deal is worth considering for work meals, with set menus priced at about £30. For a more intimate and cosy evening, there are corner tables at the back of the restaurant, surrounded by cushions.
- What's the damage
It can be pricey as the menu causes 'eyes bigger than stomach' syndrome, but with dishes ranging from £3.50 to £7.25, you can easily budget for a good meal.
