Management consultancy Arthur D Little has switched its estimated pounds
200,000-fee European PR contract from GCI to EMC Euro PR & Marketing
GCI, which re-pitched for the account, will continue to handle ADL’s UK
and US media relations while EMC co-ordinates PR in the company’s 22
offices in 13 European countries. EMC, headed by MD Richard Price, has
been handling project work for ADL’s international colloquia ‘Best of
the Best’, where heads of companies discuss business practice. The
agency will now take on ADL’s pan-European press relations programme
using its Euro PR network. It will also exploit conference and speaker
opportunities across Europe and publicise ADL’s management books.
GCI, London has handled the business since January 1995 with the aim of
raising ADL’s profile within the pan-European media. The appointment of
EMC on a retained basis appears to indicate a shift towards a more
events-led approach. ‘EMC were doing more and more European event work
so it made sense for them to handle the pan-European account,’ said ADL
marketing assistant Sophie Brewitt.
ADL has also confirmed a replacement for former European marketing
director Rob Hodges who left the company in November. Jane Morris,
director of marketing and communications at ADL Inc in the US, takes up
the post in July.
