Drugs giant Glaxo Wellcome has hired Mark Borkowski Press and PR
offshoot ThinkInc to supply it with ideas to celebrate the

Prior to Christmas, ThinkInc launched a Millennium Ideas Tank (MIT), a
virtual consultancy which will recruit advertising, marketing and media
consultants on a freelance basis as the need arises.
MIT will create ideas for millennium events, from parties and
performances to festivals, exhibitions, stunts, awards and social action
Next week, MIT will begin brainstorming for Glaxo. It has already been
provided with a brief to consider everything from a public celebration
to an employee event. The celebration is likely to continue the theme of
leaving a legacy, which features in Glaxo’s existing millennium
Glaxo is already sponsoring an extension of the seed bank at Kew.
The virtual consultancy has already designed a millennium strategy for
food company KP Snacks.

According to Borkowski, there is still plenty of time to plan
He said: ’It’s not just about 31 December. They have the whole of the
year 2000, including New Year’s Eve 2000, which technically is the start
of the millennium.’
