Channel 5 Broadcasting has named Sally Osman as its head of corporate
and PR with just six months to go before the station’s launch.
Osman, publisher of Redwood Publishing’s Harvey Nichols Magazine HN and
Boots Magazine will join the station - the UK’s fifth terrestrial
channel - in mid-July on an estimated salary of pounds 80,000.
The former director of press and publicity at BSkyB will handle
corporate PR, publicity, programme information, viewer correspondence
and internal communications.
The station’s acting head of public relations, Liz Roberts, who was
drafted in from BSkyB when the consortium won its bid last year, is
undecided over whether to stay on at Channel 5.
Osman will work with the station’s newly recruited press and public
relations manager Danielle Nay, and is likely to appoint a number of

tackle a massive programme of 9.6 million home visits to re-tune video
The programme, dubbed ‘the burglar’s charter’ by critics, has been
allocated a budget of around pounds 55 million and is due to start late
In addition, Coalition will advise on the launch of Channel 5 on 1
Hill and Knowlton has been retained to provide political advice on the
Broadcasting Bill, currently progressing through Parliament, and on the
issue of digital television.
