Financial Dynamics has snatched London and Continental’s financial PR
account from Brunswick. The agency is understood to have been appointed
within the last two weeks although L&C was unable to provide
The private consortium, which includes Virgin Group and National
Express, was awarded the contract to build the pounds 3 billion fast
rail link to the Channel Tunnel together with the assets of Eurostar
operator European Passenger Railways in February.
Brunswick, which handled PR for the consortium for two years during the
bidding process, effectively ended its contract then. Since that time
L&C has been courted by numerous financial PR agencies among them
The account should be a lucrative one. L&C is planning an international
share offering late next year to raise more than pounds 500 million
towards the cost of building the rail link.
Meanwhile it emerged that Brunswick was part of the team advising
engineering group BBA on its proposed bid for Lucas Industries - which
threatened to scupper Lucas’ merger with Varity of the US - although BBA
continued to retain FD throughout.
