PR EUROPE: DUBLIN - PR recruited to air nursing grudges

Both sides in Ireland’s bitter nurses dispute have called in PR agencies to help fight their case. The Health Services Employers Agency has called in Frank Dunlop and Associates, while the Irish nurses’ union has recruited Montague Communications. Nurses have threatened to strike if their demands - which include retirement at 55, better terms for staff nurses and bonuses for those with additional qualifications - are not met. A decision on strike action - the first by Ireland’s 26,000 nurses - has been postponed until 21 February.
